Wisavi records the experiences and judgement of someone you love in their own voice, and connects the thinking that runs through their decisions, lessons and turning points — so you can ask questions later and hear the recordings behind every answer.

What gets lost
Your family will remember what they did. Almost nobody records how they decided anything.
Photographs keep the faces and stories keep what happened; the thinking underneath is often left unrecorded — what they believed, why they believed it, the times it cost them something, and the moment they realised they had been wrong.
That judgement is hard won and easy to lose, because much of it is never written down or said out loud.
Three kinds of answer. One rule: show the evidence.

Their own words are shown in the boxed quotations, and every one can be played. Anything Wisavi has worked out is shown separately and labelled as such, so the two are never mixed up.
The labels differ because Wisavi shows what each quotation is doing — a belief, an occasion, a piece of advice — rather than treating every quotation as the same thing.

What Wisavi worked out from this — you decide

They never talked about this, and there is nothing in the recordings that comes close.
Why Wisavi will not answer this
It could put something together from the way she talked about other people, and it would probably sound convincing. It will not. What somebody thought of their own family has to come from them, in their own words, or not at all.
Wisavi does not synthesise speech and never writes in the first person as them. There is never a copy of their voice.
More than a recording
It keeps what they said. It also connects how they decided.
Anyone can record a conversation. Wisavi connects recurring beliefs, decisions, trade-offs and changes of mind across everything a person has recorded, and the source recordings stay underneath every one of them.
It finds the thread
A decision made in 1987 and a piece of advice given in 2019 can come from the same thinking. Wisavi notices, and shows you both recordings.
It answers what was never asked
Years from now, someone facing a hard decision can ask a question that person never heard, and see how they thought about problems of that kind.
It knows when not to answer
If the evidence is not there, Wisavi says so. Refusing is part of the trust model rather than a failure of it.
They talk. Wisavi listens properly.

They are asked the questions nobody thinks to ask
About the decisions, the turning points, the risks that worked and the ones that did not, and the things they would do differently.

Wisavi shows them what it understood
In their own words, with the recording there to play. They correct anything that is wrong, or remove it. Nothing is invented about them.

Their thinking becomes something the people they choose can understand
Ask a question and get an answer built only from what they actually said, with the recording underneath it.
There is no interviewer waiting, no right answer and no rush. They can stop mid-sentence, come back next week, or skip a question they would rather not answer.
The questions are adapted from the Life Story Interview (McAdams, Northwestern University), Dignity Therapy (Chochinov), the Cognitive Interview (Fisher and Geiselman), and published research on life review and autobiographical memory.
They decide who hears it. Every time.
Nothing is shared automatically. Being someone's son or daughter does not give you access to a single recording. The person who recorded it decides, one recording at a time.

Everything is private the moment it is saved
A recording belongs to the person who made it before anyone else knows it exists.

They choose after each answer
Straight after saving, Wisavi asks one plain question: share this, or keep it private for now. There is no settings screen and no reminder to nag them.

They invite people by name
A son, a daughter, a grandchild, a sister. Each person gets their own account and can ask their own questions. There is no charge per person.

They can change their mind
Access can be taken back at any time, and when it is, that answer is no longer available to that person inside Wisavi.
Some answers are for the whole family. Some are for one person only. Some they are not ready to share with anyone. Wisavi handles all three.

What it costs
Wisavi is not taking payments yet. No card is taken and nothing is charged. When it opens it will be $299 for the first year, then $99 a year. One initial payment, and family access renews after the first year. They can keep adding to their Wisavi for as long as they choose.

If nothing is recorded within sixty days, the card will be released and nothing taken. The invitation will not expire — if they record later, you will be charged then, at the price you were quoted, and we will tell you.

After the first year

Everyone they invite reads it at no charge per person.
Without renewal after the first year, the archive becomes read only for ninety days. Everything can be read and downloaded in full, free, throughout. After that it is deleted.

The artificial intelligence, and where the data goes
Wisavi carries what they said, and shows how they reasoned.

Where the evidence is not there, Wisavi says so rather than assembling something plausible.

Never used to train models
Family recordings and transcripts are not used to train or fine-tune any model, ours or a provider’s, and are not sold. Anthropic’s data controls are configured so that nothing we send is retained for training.

Audio stays in Australia
Recordings and transcripts are stored in Sydney, on Australian infrastructure. Transcription is done by Speechmatics in its Australian region, so the audio does not leave the country. Reading across the recordings uses Anthropic, outside Australia, and only the text of a transcript is ever sent there — never the audio.

Theirs to take away
Everything a person records belongs to that person — not to whoever paid for it, and not to us. One download, the whole archive, whenever they want it, free, whether the subscription is running or not.
Questions people ask
What if they are not sure about it?
Nobody has to decide anything up front. The first question is a small one, and it takes about five minutes to answer.
Is it easy to use?
Wisavi asks a question out loud, they press to answer and talk, and they press again when they are finished. There is nothing to type and nothing to set up.
Do I have to think of a question?
No. You can write one if there is something you have long wanted to ask, choose from a few suggestions, or send it with no question at all. They simply start at the beginning.
